SOUTH SHIELDS VOLUNTEER LIFEGUARD CLUB
Turning Bystanders into Lifesavers since 1961
We are a volunteer lifeguard club based at Boldon School & Boldon CA, New Road, Boldon Colliery NE35 9DS and Mowbray Lifeguard Station, Sandhaven Beach, Promenade, South Shields, NE33 3NG.
We offer training in various Lifesaving and Lifeguarding awards. Our Rookie section is for children aged 5 - 11 years and our senior section for those aged 11 years and over.

Rookies: Sat 5.00pm-6.00pm at Boldon School
Seniors: Tue 7.00-8.30pm Boldon CA

Beach sessions at Mowbray Lifeguard Station. The beach sessions usually run from Easter until at least the end of the summer, weather dependant.

SSVLG CLUB AMBASSADORS
In May 2019 Trent Maxwell and Leigh Mason took on the roles of club ambassadors after striking up a friendship on their previous visit to the club in August 2018. Maxi and Leigh share the same vision of turning all bystanders into lifesavers and together we hope to make a difference.
